Sajia Bergeson, the fabulous and fiery KinderSki Director, has eagerly taken over our snow sports school. She’s got new plans, new ideas and always, top instructors!
From Kalispell, Mont., and her beloved Flathead area, Sajia started snowboarding at 13, and skiing at 19. The “untraditional” order, we know. Now a veteran 27, she’s been with Discovery staff for five seasons. Her love of the outdoors and passion for the winter season are just two of the many reasons we are lucky to have her on our team. Her love of Discovery stems from its family-fun atmosphere, well-oiled operations and impressive terrain.
Not only does she teach skiing and snowboarding, she owns and operates her own coffee shop, Coppertop Coffee, currently located in the parking lot next to Huffman Grocery Store. When asked where she sees herself in five years, Sajia claims she does not make plans because they usually never turn out the way one plans anyway. She prefers to live life with spontaneity, often making last-minute trips to soak in the hot springs!
Back on the mountain, Sajia has many plans and new ideas for the 2012-2013 ski school that aim to make it more professional and enjoyable. With new organization, lessons will run smoother and parents will be happier — and of course there can always be more fun for the kiddos! Sajia believes a good instructor is not just someone who can ski or board well, but is someone who can actually teach people to ski and board well. With this philosophy, she’s taken the time to get to know each new and returning instructor with the goal of together tightening up the ski school.
As the season is just kicking off, pop in the rental shop and see her — she’ll find the best fit for anyone looking to take a lesson!
