The Weather Channel’s recent decision to name winter storms leaves us with specific names to thank for a friendly visit, or direct our frustration to in the event of a disappointment. Last week’s Brutus paid us an extended visit and left us with just under a foot of new snow. The early season dumping has us anxiously preparing for a Thanksgiving opening. Although we are still needing another small storm to ensure a Turkey Day opening, we are feeling optimistic about our November skiing prospects.
So while so ski areas further west of us are feeling a Cesar like betrayal, we will remember Brutus as a gracious guest who left us a memorable gift.
