A nice two day storm finally has the mountain covered in snow. The trails served by the Jubilee lift are in normal early season shape with some thin spots and other areas where the snow is over 18″ deep. The backside of the mountain has amazing coverage for this time of year (some are areas holding over 26″ of snow) until you get down to 7,250 feet, where the snowpack shrinks considerably. The trails served by the Anaconda lift have the thinnest coverage and need at least one more good storm before they have any quality skiing.
With sub-zero temperatures predicted for the upcoming weekend, we have decided to make Dec 14th our opening date for the 2013-2014 ski season. We are disappointed to get such a late start, but also optimistic that when we open we will have conditions that are well above are usual opening day skiing.
We will be providing updates regarding open terrain and lift ticket pricing as the 14th nears, so keep checking with us and in the meantime think snow!
