College Days for the rest of the season!

The college days for the rest of the season are February 12th, March 11th, and April 1st. Tickets will be $24 dollars with a Montana college or university ID. Come enjoy the snow!

Jubilee's is scheduled for December 13. And it's ready to ace it.

We've been working furiously to complete the Jubilee, meeting construction challenges and ensuring absolute safety every step of the way. Jubilee will be tested for dozens of safety factors, for example:

� Ensure all brakes are working correctly and stopping distances are within designed tolerances.
� Check the alignments of all towers and associated line equipment.
� Testing of all electrical and auxiliary power sources and ensure that transfer from one to the other happens quickly and safely.
� Load every chair with 600 lbs of water and ensure lift still meets required stopping distances and acceleration times.

All of which, means that when it opens on December 17th, it'll not only have comfortable seats and easier off-loading, it'll also be incredibly safe and sound. Sure, we'd have loved to open the Jubilee on our first day of the season, but it's more important to get the lift right. We look forward to sharing our jubilation with you soon. Big Weekend - Max Wave Promotion Dec 17th - $29 lift tickets

A big weekend is coming up for Discovery with new openings and events happening both days! Dec 17th will be mark the 2nd anniversary of Discovery's partnership with "Max Wave" a non-profit whose goal is to complete a river enhancement project in Downtown Missoula. You can learn more about the Max by visiting their website www.themaxmissoula.org. To support their cause, Discovery will be donating $10 of every adult ticket their organization. The Lil' Smokies will be playing in the bar as well, and we are anticipating a good crowd and a great time!

Saturday will also be the first day for the new Jubilee Lift. Despite our delays in getting this lift done, we are really excited to be debuting it along with our Max Wave partnership. Along with opening the Jubilee we will have our Pentecost terrain park open, with an array of new boxes and rails.

And Finally, don't forget to attend the Freestyle Team orientation this weekend. This is a great opportunity to meet and ski with our coaches for prospective members and their parents as well as parents of kids already in the program and members of last years team. There is no charge for this other than the lift ticket for the day.

We are excited about the upcoming weekend an hope everyone can make it up for a great cause.

$18 Tickets on Sat 12-10 and Sun 12-11

Discovery will be open again on Saturday and Sunday this weekend, tickets remain $18 as we struggle to open new terrain due to lack of snowfall. The terrain we have open is skiing very well, and for those who missed Sunday last week, Berkely and Atlantic cable will be open and are delivering some really fun turns.

Closed Until Saturday Dec 10th

After a great weekend that included our first powder day of the season, we are closing until next weekend. Ticket prices will be determined later in the week and will be function of open terrain for the weekend. Please check back here or on the snow report for more information later in the week.

Discovery Re-Opening 12/3 & 12/4

Discovery will re-open for the weekend of Dec 3rd and 4th with similar conditions and open terrain as Thanksgiving Weekend. We will again be running the Rumsey double and have a few trails on that part of the mountain open. Tickets will again be $18.

Additionally we will be playing both UM and MSU playoff games in the bar area and the picnic room area for those that are interested.

Opening Day 11/24 - $18 Lift tickets

Discovery is opening on Thanksgiving Day. Lifts open will include the Rumsey (green double chair), Easy Chair and our Totemoff Carpet. Snow conditions are average for this time of year but new snow is in the forecast for the next 4 days. Lift tickets will be $18 and all our programs and food facilities will be open. We plan to remain open through Sunday the 27th and then close until the following weekend. We hope to see everyone for the holiday, please call with any questions!

New Jubilee cause for jubilation

Our big project this summer was replacing the old Jubilee lift with a newer, more comfortable, more efficient triple chair. Why? Well, quite honestly the old Jubilee had been pretty well loved to death after 25 years of faithful service. and we feel our customers deserve top quality chairlifts.

The new Jubilee, technically speaking, is a different style of chair with the bullwheels positioned directly at the loading and unloading point. Less technically speaking, that makes it much easier to load and unload, even if you're six, have very short legs and are still at the pizza-wedge stage. The new Jubilee is also has more comfortable seats and is a triple lift so you can bring a friend to keep you from strangling your husband while he teaches you how to ski. Best of all, it's faster. So you'll spend more time with your skis on the snow than dangling in the air.

A few fun facts:

� The 140 super comfortable chairs on the new lift came from Steamboat
� The tower equipment and both terminals came from Park City
� From bottom to top the new lift shaves 1.5 minutes off the ride
� Many of the chairs from the retired lift went to longtime Discovery skiers
� We're still calling it the Jubilee

As a way to show our appreciation and to end another great season a good note we are offering $19 lift tickets the last day, April 3rd. The skiing conditions continue to amaze with late season storms offering up fresh powder and the spring sunshine keeping the groomers soft well into the late afternoon.
