SNOW SPORTS SCHOOL
The Discovery Ski School teaches thousands of local children and adults to ski and snowboard each year. Our instructors are all trained by PSIA-certified clinicians, and we take care to hire instructors who are as good with people as they are on snow. LESSON PROGRAMS
We are excited to again offer a great selection of programs for all ages. Unless noted differently, all classes start at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. daily. Group lesson programs are only offered on the weekends for all levels—Youth, Kid Kruizer and Adult sessions. Classes that fall below three students will be considered private or semi-private lessons and the lesson duration will be adjusted. During the week, parties of three or more skiing or boarding together can participate in lesson programs at the group rate.
KIDS
Kinderski (ages 3 – 6)
Kinderski is the ideal introduction to snow sports. It's separate from the regular ski school with its own instructors and meeting place. Children in Kinderski are supervised the entire time and provided excellent instruction. There is, on average, one instructor for every four kids. Lunch is served to children staying all day, and snacks are served during the morning and afternoon sessions. Kinderski is available every day, half-days or full-days. The morning session starts at 10 a.m. and ends at noon. The afternoon session runs from 1 – 3:00 p.m.

Kid Kruizers (ages 6 – 12)
The Kid Kruizers program gives children quality instruction time in the morning and afternoon as well as time to explore on their own. The program is an excellent preparation for those who have dreams of joining the Discovery Ski Racing Team.

ESP (age 5)
The ESP racing program is for younger children who need additional instruction before they're ready to launch into DART. Skiers must be able to ride the chairlift on their own. The ESP program starts January 8, 2011 and continues for 10 Saturdays. The kids are coached on their technique, and there are several races at the end of the program to show off their new skills. The cost is $200.
DART
DART is Discovery's traveling racing team. Kids are coached in their technique and travel to many different races throughout the winter. The coaching fees are $400 and there are a number of other expenses to this program. Please contact us at 406-563-2184 for more information on costs and requirements. (Dependant on skill level.)
The DART program is for skiers who would like to refine their skiing skills through dedicated training and competition. The team participates in USSA races that are held in Montana and Wyoming during the winter.
Discovery Freestyle Team
For Kids ages 8 to 18 who are looking to learn the sport of freestyle or become serious competitors we are starting the Discovery Freestyle Team. Members will be coached by former Northern Division Freestyle athletes and have the opportunity to compete against the regions best. This is perfect for skiers looking to take the talents to another more refined level or get into freestyle competitions.
You must be able to ski or ride intermediate and advanced terrain but you don't need freestyle experience. Helmets are required for the program and available for purchase in the Discovery store or for rent in our rental center.
The program begins January 8th and runs every Saturday concluding on March 26th. The cost of the program includes a season pass at Discovery (if you already have a pass please let us know and we will credit that purchase toward the program), the mandatory USSA membership which includes supplemental health insurance, and coaching fees.

ADULTS
Wednesday Programs
Similar to the youth session program, our Wednesday programs for adults are designed to advance your on-snow IQ, show you the mountain and ensure you have a great time doing it. Classes run five consecutive Wednesdays beginning January 5, 2011. They include a two-hour group lesson each day and a luncheon on the final day. The instructor for all classes is Yvonne Leipheimer, PSIA-certified instructor.
