Lessons

Lessons / Programs

Our Kinder program is ideal introduction to snow sports. Kinder lessons are geared specifically for kids ages 3-6 and maintain a 4:1 student to instructor ratio. Instructors focus on games, imagination and teaching techniques to help your child gain confidence, develop their abilities and build independence on the slopes. Kinderski/Kinderboard is available daily for both half and full day sessions. Our morning session runs from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., while the afternoon session runs from 1 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. The full day option includes both sessions, a lunch, and lunch time supervision. Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to lesson start time to allow your child time to gear up and meet their instructor. Reservations are recommended. Please keep in mind all reservations can only be made up until 12 p.m. the day prior to your desired ski date.

Kid Kruizers is a lesson program designed for children ages 7-12. Students of similar age and ability work with instructors in a group setting learning how to ski and board or build on existing knowledge. Kruizers is a great way for your child to overcome apprehensions and strengthen their skills on the mountain. Kruizer lessons are available everyday of the week. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (i.e Presidents day, Christmas break, MLK day), we offer both half and full day sessions. Half day lessons are 1.5 hours long, with start times of 10:30 a.m or 1:30 p.m. Full day kruizers combines both A.M. and P.M. sessions. Monday-Friday we offer afternoon Kruizer lessons starting at 1:30 p.m. Please plan to arrive early on weekends. Reservations are recommended. Please keep in mind all reservations can only be made up until 12 p.m. the day prior to your desired ski date.

The Discovery Ski Education Foundation

The Discovery Ski Education Foundation (DSEF) is a nonprofit, parent-run organization. The team has been at the heart of coaching young athletes with talent and enthusiasm since Discovery’s early days. Members of our team develop more than just the ability to ski extremely well — they also learn valuable life skills like discipline, focus and teamwork. Though being the speediest on the slopes often seems to be the priority.

SNOW SPORTS SCHOOL

The Discovery Ski School teaches thousands of local children and adults to ski and snowboard each year. Our instructors are all trained by PSIA-certified clinicians, and we take care to hire instructors who are as good with people as they are on snow. With our ski school, you’ll not only learn, you’ll have a great time doing it. For more information on our lessons and programs, call us at 406-563-2184.
